Voviet – Viettaichi
In front of the immense beaches of Ofir, the participants were able to learn different teachings from Grand Master Phan Hoang in both Voviet and Viettaichi. Also present were Master Tung from Germany and Masters Tue Chu and Tue Y from Italy.
The Grand Master insisted on the peculiarities of our arts. An excerpt from his teaching at this Stage:
” People think that the older the better … Our art is recent, but the raw material with which it was built comes from the old civilisation of Vietnam. Let’s try to understand well, the discipline is modern, a new way, but the material for the construction, like building a palace… you cannot say that this palace is from Caesar’s time, no, it is new, but the stones… the stones have existed for a million years. In the same way, the material with which our Art is built, every material, is very old. We have chosen the most beautiful, the most solid, the most manageable, and we have constructed a new Art. And there is no reason to hide the fact that Grand Master Hoang has travelled a lot around the world, and has known many disciplines, he has been able to observe point by point the good and the bad parts of different disciplines. That is how I learned…
But the differences between different forms, between different materials, require skill, exceptional skill. One has to select what is true from what is false. And we have selected the most beautiful stones of Vietnamese civilisation, examining the errors and the benefits, and we have constructed our Art. This is OUR ART.”
